Holiday Respite

Our Holiday Respite Event is BACK! We are so excited to bring these events back for our families this year.  Our Holiday Respite Day Camp is scheduled for Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Drop off begins at 8:45 AM. Red Ribbon Week 10/25-10/29

Next week is Red Ribbon Week.  Each day has a healthy theme and dress up day.

10/25    Monday: TEAM UP and make healthy choices (Wear your favorite team's apparel or jersey)

10/26    Tuesday: We're not scaredy CATS...we make healthy choices (Dress in Wildcat, Cougar, or TIGER spirit gear)

10/27    Wednesday: 50th day of school JUMP and JIVE into healthy choices (Dress in 50's attire) 

10/28    Thursday: GOES Tiger CARVE out time to live a healthy life.  (wear your favorite pumpkin attire)

10/29    Friday:  My CHARACTER counts (dress as a story book character for our character parade)  

Family Resource/ SSES Program

SB 1716 passed in the 87th Legislative session expanded the current Supplemental Special Education Services (SSES) program which gives $1,500 grants to families of qualifying Special Education students. Beginning November 1, 2021, new eligibility guidelines will go into full effect, making all currently enrolled Texas public school students served by Special Education eligible! We went on our FIRST CBI of the year (Kroger) and all of the students did so great reading a shopping list, comparing prices, finding the aisle numbers, greeting a familiar person, waiting in the check out line, and counting money to make a purchase! When we got back to campus, students followed a recipe to make pizza bread. 

Bowling trip is on Friday 10/15

We will board the bus to go bowling shortly after arrival procedures on Friday. Please make sure that your child arrives to school by 8:40. Pease make sure to pack a sack lunch and a snack for your child for our bowling trip.

GOES is having a GLOW run!

GOES is having the best and most exciting fundraising event... we are having a GLOW run on October 12 and 13. It will take place in the gym. Please dress your child in neon clothing so the students will glow in the black lights. I will make sure to take lots of fun pictures to share with you. The money raised will be used to purchase our playscape for the playground. How do stems work? Science Experiment, Flowers in food dye.
Our science experiment this week demonstrates how stems work. The student are excited to see their white flowers changing to the color of the dye each chose.

How do plants make their own food? Photosynthesis!
Students completed an activity to demonstrate how plants make their own food. Plants will home on Friday. Students may decide to plant them in the flower bed to enjoy at home all year.
