About Me

Thanks for stopping by my page!  This will be my 20th year teaching.  I graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelors of Business Administration and spent three years as a computer programmer. I quickly realized that was not my passion and segued into teaching.
My first four years I spent in HISD as a technology teacher. I quickly realized many of my 7th and 8th graders struggled to read, and it was then I realized my passion for literacy.  I moved closer to home and spent the next four years teaching 3rd grade in Cy-Fair at Matzke Elementary.   Then, I served as a Case Manager for the Dean Middle School Special Education department. The past seven years, I have been a second grade, third grade, and then the ESL specialist at Canyon Pointe Elementary in Tomball. I am very excited to join the GOES staff as the Reading Specialist.
My teaching philosophy is to meet each student where they are at and bring them to the next level. We all learn in different ways, and it is my goal to figure out how your child learns best and have them experience success. I can’t wait to build a relationship with your family. I am a firm believer in communication, so if you have a question or concern please ask!
This past May I graduated with my Masters in Literacy.  I love learning, and sharing my knowledge with students and staff.  I enjoy running, watching my kids play sports, and traveling!
